CARISSA MOORE WINS MARGARET RIVER WCT

4/6/2014: In chunky and challenging conditions (and probably Biolos’ worst dream scenario) Carissa Moore defeated Tyler Wright in the final of the ASP WORLD TOUR Margaret River Pro in Western Australia. Both women were riding boards shaped by Matt “Mayhem” Biolos and both put on a great power surfing performance in the wild waves of West Oz. Carissa started out with a 7.5 but Tyler came right back with a hugh frontside gouge for an 8.00. She backed it up quickly with a 6.1 and took the lead. But in dramatic fashion Carissa took off and scored an 8.2 in the last minutes of the final to take the win. She’s now tied atop the ratings with Steph Gilmore. Next event is Bells.
