Congrats to Hawaiian Carissa Moore, winner of the 2014 ASP WCT Target Maui Pro. This was the last women’s WCT of the year and despite the 2013 World Champ being just out of the title race it looks like she still had something to prove in home waters. Another congrats to runner-up Tyler Wright, who started the day ranked 3rd in the world and nearly created a World Title surf-off scenario against Steph Gilmore had she won the final. Both girls started off the final with high 8 point scores but Carissa sealed the final with a 9.73 score. Tyler never found a back-up score to match. Both girls have had a tremendous year on the tour with 5 out of 10 events being won by the duo (Carissa 3, Tyler 2). We’re sure 2015 will see more success for both of them. There’s no way Chucky still thinks he could make the women’s WCT. All photos: ASPWORLDTOUR.COM
