Taj Burrow won the Hurley Pro Lowers WCT. Johnny Gannon’s juices must have been flowing with the right consistency this event because Taj outsurfed the young Julian Wilson in the final. Taj was riding a new version of his Whiplash model, the Whiplash 14. Its similar to the Taj Whiplash with a newer rocker that is a little flatter through the middle . Our surfboard team manager was able to sneak into the competitors area, like a fly on the wall, and snap these photos.
Taj whipping his new model though the small lowers conditions.
On the podium at Lowers, exactly where Taj wants to be.
Mayhem and Taj celebrating a tough but well deserved road to the podium . Apparently Biolos is a local or something.
The marketing department was stuck inside editing the final episode of Here Today Gone to Cabo . We were however watching the webcast and found our vice president of shipping logistics for Lost surfboards, Thunderfoot, drinking the free beer on tap.
He even made a point to taunt us with a cheers. Also notable is the support Ian Crane, Pat Gudauskas, and Nate Yeomans were given by the locals.
Thunder giving Julian a big congratulations at the after party.
Taj was found the morning after his win back in full training mode .
